Vanesa Coloma
Born in Madrid, Vanesa Coloma began her studies at 8 years of age at the Conservatory of Madrid, where she specialized in flamenco, working under master artists such as María Magdalena, El Güito, La China, and Ciro, among others.
Among her most notable works, Coloma has appeared as a soloist in Souvenir by Belen Maya, Tauro by Manuel Liñan, Camino Flamenco by Alfonso Losa, 4 Adjetivos and Equilibrio Flamenco by Jesús Carmona, and 5 Mujeres al Borde de una Bata de Cola by Yolanda Heredia. Coloma has performed and taught in various festivals, including the Bienal de Sevilla, Festival de Jerez, Festival de las Minas, Suma Flamenca, Madrid en Danza, Festival Flamenco USA, Festival Internacional de Alburquerque, Festival de Mont de Marsan, and Festival de Nimes.
Without a doubt, Coloma is one of the most important artists of her generation.
In 2008, she was awarded the Premio Nacional de la Perla de Cádiz for her Alegrías. Coloma also worked with Noche Flamenca on their United States and Australian tours, where she shared the stage with artists of the caliber of Alejandro Granados and Isabel Bayón.
Coloma presented her concert, Flamenklorica at the 2015 Certamen de Danza Española y Flamenco in Madrid. Thanks to its great critical acceptance, the show formed part of the 2016 Festival Flamenco de Madrid, the Festival Tío de la Juliana, Corral del Carbón, Otoños Flamencos, and this year, Festival Flamenco Internacional de Alburquerque.
In 2017, she was a semifinalist at the Concurso Internacional at the Festival Cante de Las Minas.
Currently, she combines her work as a guest artists in various dance companies with performances at the most prestigious tablaos such as El Carmen, Las Carboneras, Villarosa, and Casa Patas, among others.
