The Workshop

In dance classes, choreography and technique will be taught. Workshop choreographies are set to various palos (song forms and rhythms). Choreographies are the original work of the artists/teachers, and students learn flamenco through the experience and unique abilities that these master artists/teachers bring to their work. Workshops consist of six (6) hours of instruction over the course of seven (7) days, June 22-28. Instructors generally do not teach on the day of their scheduled performance.

Manuel Montes

Manuel Jiménez Montes was born in Córdoba in 1997. He began his dance studies with María “La Chata” and continued his professional training at the “Luis de Río” Conservatory in his hometown. He completed his academic development in Flamenco dance pedagogy at the María de Ávila Conservatory in Madrid. Manuel is a flamenco dancer who continuously learns from mentors with whom he has had and still has the pleasure of working. He is known for his discipline, rigor, and professionalism on stage. Despite his young age, he has been a member and principal dancer of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía and has worked with renowned artists such as Farruquito and Antonio Canales. He also has worked with Andrés Marín’s company and currently works with Estévez & Paños. He also has directed and daned in his own show, “Tierra de Alma.”
