Ana Salazar is an internationally acclaimed flamenco singer and dancer from Cadiz, Spain. She studied dance with great flamenco maestros such as Antonio Canales, Javier Latorre and Mario Maya. At the age of 16 Salazar danced in Manuela Carrasco’s flamenco company and then continued on to Eva La Yerbabuena’s company and premiered in the Lope de Vega theater in Sevilla followed by a performance in Madrid.
Following her participation in the album Chanson Flamenca, Salazar released a solo album Ana Salazar Canta a Edith Piaf that was a success internationally and was followed by a tour of festivals in cities like Paris, Vienna and Tokyo.
Salazar has also participated in shows like the musical Tarantos, Latinas, Femmes du Flamenco, and Du Fado et Du Tango of Gérard Lafont.
In 2007 Salazar was awarded the Andalucía Youth Award and that same year released her second album Claros del Alma.
She has shared the stage with flamenco dancers such as Belén Maya, Tomasito, Antonio Canales, Yolanda Heredia and Andrés Marín and has been accompanied by mang great flamenco cantaores including Alfredo and Davíd Lagos, Juan Diego, Enrique “El Extremeño”, Arcángel, Juan José Amador, Falo, Encarnita Anillo, José Luis Montón and José Antonio Galicia.
Salazar has recently premiered her latest work, ‘Desayuno sin Diamantes’ at the 2015 Flamenco Festival de Jérez.
