Karime Amaya

Winner of the Revelation Award at the Festival de Jerez 2013. The Mexico City-born Karime Amaya has been presented as a soloist in the most important flamenco gatherings and tablaos in the world and has shared the stage with Tomatito, Los Los Losada, Farruquito, Gerardo Nuñez and has performed with dancers such as Maria Pages, Israel and Pastora Galván, Antonio Canales, Manuela Carrasco, Rafael and Adela Campallo, Torombo, Rafael del Carmen, Mario Maya’s company, Antonio “El Pipa”, Farruco Family, among many others. She was a guest artist in the shows Bailaor by Antonio Canales, Frente a Frente by bailaor Juan de Juan, Abolengo by Farruquito, and Dicen de mi by Joaquín Cortés. In 2012 she successfully presented her show Desde la Orilla at the Festival de Jerez, and in 2013 she performed with the dancers Pastora Galván and Paloma Fantova in the show Con Carmen Amaya en la Memoria, a tribute to Amaya’s great aunt Carmen Amaya, performing throughout Europe. In 2014 she presented with Paloma Fantova and Jesús Carmona the show Cuerpo, mente, alma at the Teatro Lope de Vega in the Bienal de Sevilla, Gala Flamenca with Antonio Canales and 8 códigos with Carlos Carbonell. In 2014 she participated in the Flamenco Festival cycle, performing in several tours in the United States, China and Europe. She performed in Suma Flamenca 2016 with José Maya and Juana de Juan. She has been a regular guest artist of the great guitarist Tomatito, and continues to perform around the world.
