Introducing the All-New FRINGE at Festival Flamenco
This year, we’re thrilled to present an exciting new FRINGE experience—an expanded lineup of immersive, community-driven events designed to elevate your Festival Flamenco experience.
We’re curating a series of auxiliary events that create more opportunities to connect, engage, and explore Albuquerque’s vibrant cultural landscape. From daily coffee shop gatherings and brewery socials to group outings to local attractions, FRINGE is about bringing people together through shared experience and artistic discovery.
Self-Produced, Independent Performances
A core element of FRINGE is our new series of self-produced, DIY performances presented daily at the UNM Experimental “X” Theater. Opening this series is CONTRA, an innovative, independent production that sets the tone for the work to follow.
Interested in Performing?
We are now accepting applications from artists interested in showcasing their own work as part of the FRINGE series.
About the Series: Each production will be entirely self-produced. This means that all aspects of sound, lighting, and production will be managed by the artists. We will provide:
- A performance space
- Basic work lights
- Advertising and promotion
If you wish to use the lighting board, you must provide a qualified technician. Please note that fixtures cannot be moved, nor can additional lighting be brought in.
All Forms of Expression Welcome: While we celebrate the flamenco community, we also encourage all styles of dance and movement to take the stage. This is a space to experiment, explore, and showcase your artistry in all its forms.
Entry & Selection Process: All performances will be open to the public, with tickets priced at $20.
We’re operating on a 50/50 split:
- 50% of ticket sales will go to the artist
- 50% will go toward production and event costs
Limited slots are available and will be allocated based on an application and audition process.

- Due to limited gallery space, we will curate a selection that showcases a diverse range of artists and mediums.
