The Workshop
This class is valuable for all flamenco students. It is not necessary to be an experienced singer. Letras (verses) will be studied from various palos (song forms and rhythms) to familiarize the singer, dancer or guitarist with the various forms, styles and intricacies of Cante Flamenco.
Workshops consist of six (6) hours of instruction over the course of seven (6) days, June 21-27. Instructors generally do not teach on the day of their scheduled performance. Vicente Griego will not teach on June 27.

Vicente Griego
Vicente Griego, known as “El Cartucho,” is a flamenco singer from Dixon/Embudo, New Mexico, who has dedicated his life to the art of cante flamenco. In 1992, he began touring with the José Greco II Flamenco Dance Company, where he was mentored by Alfonso Gabarri, “El Veneno,” from Madrid, Spain.
Griego has performed extensively across the United States, Canada, and Latin America. He is a member of Yjastros: The American Flamenco Repertory Company, based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and collaborates with EmiArteFlamenco, contributing his powerful voice to a range of productions.
He is also the lead singer of the rumba flamenca band ReVóZo, blending traditional flamenco with contemporary rhythms. Vicente’s deep knowledge and passionate delivery of flamenco music make him a respected artist within the flamenco community.
