The Workshop

IIn dance classes, choreography and technique will be taught. Workshop choreographies are set to various palos (song forms and rhythms). Choreographies are the original work of the artists/teachers, and students learn flamenco through the experience and unique abilities that these master artists/teachers bring to their work

Workshops consist of six (6) hours of instruction over the course of seven (6) days, June 21-27. Instructors generally do not teach on the day of their scheduled performance. Juan de Juan will not teach on June 22.

Juan de Juan

Juan de Juan, born in Sevilla in 1979, is a distinguished flamenco dancer and choreographer renowned for his dynamic performances and innovative approach to traditional flamenco. He began his dance education at a young age, studying under esteemed maestros such as Matilde Coral and Manolo Marín. By 16, he joined the prestigious company of Antonio Canales, quickly ascending to the role of principal dancer.

Throughout his career, Juan de Juan has collaborated with numerous luminaries in the flamenco world, including Joaquín Cortés and Sara Baras, performing on prominent stages worldwide. His unique style seamlessly blends classical flamenco with contemporary elements, captivating audiences and critics alike.

In addition to his performance career, Juan de Juan has dedicated himself to choreography and teaching, imparting his knowledge and passion for flamenco to the next generation of dancers. His contributions to the art form have solidified his status as a leading figure in contemporary flamenco.
