The Workshop
In repertory classes, choreography will be taught. Workshop choreographies are set to various palos (song forms and rhythms). Choreographies are the original work of the artists/teachers, and students learn flamenco through the experience and unique abilities that these master artists/teachers bring to their work.
Workshops consist of six (6) hours of instruction over the course of seven (6) days, June 21-27. Instructors generally do not teach on the day of their scheduled performance. Carmen Yanes will not teach on June 22.

Carmen Yanes, a flamenco dancer from Sevilla, embodies the rich traditions of Andalucian art with a modern flair. She began her dance career at an early age, immersing herself in flamenco’s deep cultural roots and refining her craft under the mentorship of renowned maestros.
Carmen has performed with prestigious flamenco companies and shared the stage with acclaimed artists, establishing herself as a prominent figure in the contemporary flamenco scene. Her collaborations include appearances at renowned tablaos such as Teatro Flamenco Madrid, where she has performed alongside artists like Sonia Cortés, Antonio de Manuela, and Antonio Andrade.
In January 2024, she captivated audiences in Encuentro Flamenco, a collaboration with Ricardo Moro at Tablao Flamenco Las Tablas in Madrid. Her performances, characterized by emotional depth and technical precision, resonate with both traditional flamenco aficionados and contemporary audiences.
Carmen’s artistry has taken her to numerous national and international stages, where she continues to showcase the power and elegance of flamenco. Her dedication to preserving and innovating within the flamenco tradition makes her a sought-after performer in both solo and ensemble productions.
