Antonio Amaya “El Petete”

Antonio Amaya Domínguez, known in the flamenco world as “El Petete,” is a distinguished bailaor and palmero from Sevilla, born in 1993 into a family rich in artistic heritage, including his aunt, renowned flamenco singer Remedios Amaya.

El Petete’s passion for flamenco ignited early; he first took the stage at age seven under the mentorship of maestro Torombo at the Tablao Flamenco Los Gallos.

He honed his craft under the tutelage of esteemed maestros such as José Galván, Rafael Campallo, Andrés Peña, Juanito de los Reyes, and Charo Cala.

Throughout his career, El Petete has performed internationally in countries including Algeria, Russia, Poland, France, and Italy.

He has collaborated with prominent artists like Farruquito, Manuela Carrasco, Juan de Juan, and Remedios Amaya.

Notably, at the 20th Seville Flamenco Biennial in 2018, he was featured in the “De La Mano de…” program, presented by maestro Farruquito, where he showcased his performance “Cinco Sentío.”

In 2022, during the 22nd Sevilla Flamenco Biennial, he performed to a full house as part of the Flamenco Fuera de Serie company in the show “Tablao,” under the artistic direction of José Suárez “El Torombo.”

El Petete’s artistry continues to captivate audiences, and he remains an active figure in the flamenco scene, performing in various tablaos across Andalucia and participating in international festivals, contributing to the preservation and evolution of flamenco art.
