About

The SHOW

“On This Day, In This World” is a performance inspired by the work of Brazilian artist Tunga. The piece Xifópagas Capilares Entre Nós evokes a myth that we reimagine, in which two sisters born united by their hair are forced by their people to separate or face the penalty of sacrifice.

Vital matters such as death, the fear of a community toward difference, loneliness as fate, goodbyes, and deep love as conviction accompany the journey of their last day of life. They prefer to be sacrificed rather than break the bond that unites them.

How would we live our last day in this world? What would be our last words to each other? And what would the wind or the path of the sun tell us? What is our final song? And how is our last dance?” Javiera De La Fuente
