The Workshop
In dance classes, choreography and technique will be taught. Workshop choreographies are set to various palos (song forms and rhythms). Choreographies are the original work of the artists/teachers, and students learn flamenco through the experience and unique abilities that these master artists/teachers bring to their work
Workshops consist of six (6) hours of instruction over the course of seven (6) days, June 21-27. Instructors generally do not teach on the day of their scheduled performance. Iván Orellana will not teach on June 21.

Iván Orellana
Iván Orellana Domínguez, born in 1992 in Ubrique, Cádiz, is a distinguished flamenco dancer celebrated for his elegance and strength. He began his dance education at a young age, training under esteemed instructors such as Merche Esmeralda, Rubén Olmo, Gala Vivancos, Alejandro Granados, and Pastora Galván. Orellana earned a degree with special distinction in flamenco dance from the Maribel Gallardo Professional Dance Conservatory.
In 2017, he joined the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía and has also performed with the companies of Andrés Marín and Rafael Estévez/Valeriano Paños. His dynamic performances have garnered him several accolades, including first prize in the “Memoria Flamenca” competition organized by Casa de la Memoria in Seville and the Flamenco Cultural Center of Madrid, first prize in the “Ciudad de Ubrique” competition, and second prize in the “Perla de Cádiz” competition.
Orellana’s international presence includes performances at venues such as the Teatro Nacional de Japón and Madison Square Garden in New York. In 2022, he was honored with the GALA Fuego Flamenco Award at Madrid’s prestigious Competition of Spanish Dance and Flamenco.
In November 2023, he choreographed and performed in “Enredo,” a production by Flamenco Aparicio Dance Company, presented at the XIX Fuego Flamenco Festival in Washington, D.C.
Orellana continues to captivate audiences worldwide with his profound artistry and dedication to flamenco.
