The Workshop

In dance classes, choreography and technique will be taught. Workshop choreographies are set to various palos (song forms and rhythms). Choreographies are the original work of the artists/teachers, and students learn flamenco through the experience and unique abilities that these master artists/teachers bring to their work.

Workshops consist of six (6) hours of instruction over the course of seven (6) days, June 21-27. Instructors generally do not teach on the day of their scheduled performance. Cristina Soler will not teach on June 22.

Cristina Soler

Cristina Soler began dancing at just three years old. She holds a degree in Professional Spanish Dance from the Reina Sofía Conservatory in Granada and continued her studies for two years at the Andalucian Dance Center (CAD) in Sevilla, where she trained under esteemed masters such as Rubén Olmo, Miguel Ángel Corbacho, Javier Barón, Manolo Marín, Ana María Bueno, and Rocío Coral, performing in tours across Andalucia. Later, she earned a degree in Choreography and Performance of Spanish Dance and Flamenco from the María de Ávila Superior Conservatory of Dance in Madrid, expanding her training with renowned artists like Lola Greco, Antonio Canales, Farruquito, Pastora Galván, Marcos Flores, Alfonso Losa, Pedro Córdoba, Guadalupe Torres, Milagros Mengíbar, Rafaela Carrasco, Matilde Coral, and Manuel Liñán.

Throughout her career, Cristina has worked with some of the most prominent flamenco companies in Spain. She has participated in artistic projects under the direction of Rubén Olmo, Daniel Doña, Teresa Nieto, María Rovira, and Carlos Chamorro, performing on national and international stages, including prestigious theaters and festivals. In 2013, she was awarded a scholarship by the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, led by Rafaela Carrasco, during the creation of En la Memoria del Cante 1922.

Currently, Cristina is part of several prominent productions. She performs with Marina Heredia in Lorca y la Pasión, un Mar de Sueños, sharing the stage with acclaimed artists like Farruquito, José Valencia, Miguel Poveda, and José Quevedo “Bolita,” under the scenic direction of Rosario Pardo and choreographic direction of Eva Yerbabuena. She also works with Mercedes de Córdoba in Sí, Quiero, which premiered at the 2022 Festival de Jerez, and with Rafaela Carrasco in Nocturna, presented at the 2022 Bienal de Sevilla. Cristina frequently performs at the finest theaters and tablaos in Andalucia and Madrid and is a core member of Casa Ana, representing the elegance of flamenco in Granada.
